Founded by the Atherton family in 1960, the first Sandy Point Restaurant was a drive-in establishment known for its home-cooked dishes. After the building suffered fire damage in 1975, the Athertons reopened it on a new piece of land that was previously a resort. The busy restaurant was a hotspot for terrific food and live performances. It has since switched over to new owners, receiving an update in 2013 at the West Olive restaurant location and adding a second location in Grand Rapids more recently.Our Dedication to Quality

Douglas is a Scottish masculine given name which originated from the surname Douglas. Although today the name is almost exclusively given to boys, it was used as a girl's name in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in the north of England. The Scottish surname Douglas was borne by one of the most powerful families of the Kingdom of Scotland (the Earls of Douglas, Angus, Morton, Dukes of Hamilton and others). It has sometimes been stated that the given name is connected with the given name Dougal, although it is more likely derived from the surname already mentioned.
Had a solid dinner on the screened in porch here. Beet salad with hanger steak was delish, but a bit heavy on the dressing. I'd maybe get it on the side. Our toddler loved the mussels.
