Founded by the Athertons in 1960, the original Sandy Point Restaurant was a casual place beloved for its home-cooked dishes. After the building suffered fire damage in 1975, the Athertons reinvented it on a different piece of land that was previously a resort. The busy restaurant became a hub for great food and entertainment. Had a solid dinner on the screened in porch here. Beet salad with hanger steak was delish, but a bit heavy on the dressing. I'd maybe get it on the side. Our toddler loved the mussels.
